The top of the process container is open and the disc at the bottom is designed to rotate. The upper cylinder (container wall) itself does not rotate. The seal between the disc and the upper cylinder is designed either as a gap or a zero-gap system. When the process container is filled with polishing or grinding media and the disc rotates, a whirl like movement is generated, which creates a long frictional path resulting in an extremely efficient processing action on the work piece. |
